Royle, Mann, Marek, Hamilton, Sjoman & Duda Win

June 22, 2013- Elko, MN

Adam Royle from Lonsdale (MN) made it three Super Late Model victories in a row in the NASCAR Whelen All American series at Elko Speedway with a win by just .201 over Chad Walen. Royle started sixth row outside and worked his way up to second place when the caution flew with just 5 laps remaining. Walen was the leader and had lane choice, “I was doing the fist pump when he took the bottom,” said Royle “then I got out front, it’s been cool.” Royle has a 14 point lead over Donny Reuvers in the standings with Walen in third 26 points back.

Dusty Mann from Farmington (MN) started in the front row and won the Thunder Car main event in a race that went green for the entire 25 lap feature. “It’s funny how when you lead the entire race, it seems to take forever,” said Mann. Scott King finished second with a hard charging Brent Kane getting third and holding on to the point lead by 8 points over Ted Reuvers in the standings.

Chris Marek from Lakeville (MN) became the first two time winner in the Big 8 division this year at Elko Speedway. He finished just ahead of Michael Bemish and Kyle Kirberger for the win and extended his point lead to 15 over Dylan Moore.

Paul Hamilton from Hastings (MN) had a clean sweep in the Power Stock division after passing both David Robinson and Bryan Wrolstad who battled side by side for the lead early in the 15 lap race. “I was trying to be patient and hold back,” said Hamilton “finally they broke up and I was able to go through for the win.” Hamilton now is only 1 pt behind point leader John Lebens in the Championship standings.

Tyler Sjoman from Alexandria (MN) won the Great North Legends feature after starting third row outside. He edged Shon Jacobsen by .557 seconds in the 20 lap main event. Michael Ostdiek leads the point standings over Jacobsen by just two points.

Jared Duda from St Michael (MN) won the Bandoleros feature and extended his point lead to 9 points over Cole Klien.

Racing at Elko Speedway continues on Saturday June 29th with an Eve of Destruction RAW event. Racing in 6 divisions of cars plus Fireworks, the Incinerator Monster Truck, Cannon Lady being shot out of a cannon over 500 feet, Radical Rob, Rich Weiber Freestyle bicycles, Mechanical bull, School bus races, Free carnival rides and much more. Gates open at 5pm and racing at 7pm.
