Elko, MN June 27, 2009--Shakopee's Jacob Goede followed up his recent Elmer Musgrave Memorial 100 ASAMT win, by returning to Elko Speedway and overtaking Elko point leader Adam Royle on lap 55 of 93 enroute to winning the inaugural Thunderstruck 93 memorial race, honoring the late Elko Speedway Hall of Fame member Dan Ryan, Sr.

Under sunny skies, 27 NASCAR Super Late Models ran qualifying laps, with Farmington's Jake Ryan debuting a new ride in honor of his late father. The newness didn't last long as Ryan sizzled the high banked 3/8ths mile speedplant in a blazing 13.688 seconds to secure the fast qualifying honor, edging Elko's Dan Fredrickson by a narrow .007 seconds.627_7149_46

After two highly charged Semi Features, the drivers lined the front straightaway for introductions and the chance to draw for positions 1-18 with Ryan 10th and Northfield's Royle on the point. At the drop of the green, it was Royle and Farmington's Dan Pat Ryan, Jr. battling for the early lead, with Elko's Dan Fredrickson joining the top three before the action stalled on lap 10 as Eagan's Ryan Johnson lost the handle in turn two. On the ensuing restart, Royle jumped to the point, with Fredrickson bypassing jDan Pat Ryan for second as Jake Ryan and Jacob Goede started their move to sixth and seventh. As Royle kept four car lengths between himself and Fredrickson, Jake Ryan and Goede kept up their march, bypassing Jason Schneider and Donny Reuvers to joint the top five by the 24th lap before the caution flew a second time on lap 30 for Kevin Lutz.

627_7152_46Royle brought the field back up to speed, although the action would see two more cautions before the mandatory lap 39 break, with Ryan and Goede taking advantage of the restarts, moving under Fredrickson to second and third. After a 10 minute break, the drivers lined up for more action, only to see the caution fly immediately as Maple Grove's Joel Theisen lost a wheel on the restart. After a quick reline, the action was again delayed as Ryan Johnson's Chevy lost oil, forcing a lengthy cleanup. Once the track was deemed "race ready", the action went back under the green and immediately, Goede made a move to Ryan's top side and on lap 42 moved to second and pulled even with Royle six laps later.

Once on Royle's inside, Goede kept a steady line and eventually got a run off of turn two, to take the point on lap 55, with Ryan moving by Royle for second on lap 60, but with only one more caution to stall the action, Goede would pull away over the final 33 laps to earn the beautiful custom guitar trophy, with a disappointed Ryan second, Rosemount's Nick Murgic battled to the end and moved up from his 14th starting position to edge Royle for third, brent_kanewith Lakeville's Billy Mohn battling hard for fifth.

The Genz-Ryan Thunder Cars again featured some great side by side action as Lonsdale's Brent "the Frieght Train" Kane, outdueled Burnsville's Mike Hanson for the lead, pulling away for his divisional leading fifth feature win of the season, with Elko's Daryl Blohm second and Lakeville's Chris Marek edging Dundas' Ted Reuvers for third.

In the Great North Legends, Shorewood's Dan Wittenberg took the opening lap lead, only to tangle with Lakeville's Gene Traxler and Lakeville's Bryan Keske on lap four to not only lose the point, but end his night at the same time. On the restart, Sauk Center's Dirk Henry bolted to the lead and never looked back in scoring dirk_henrythe win over East Bethel's Shon Jacobsen and Buffalo's Pat Zandstra.

The Dicks Sanitation Power Stocks featured great numbers and the action reflected it as Farmington's Dillon Sellner powered his Chevy to the point and led the first eight laps, before a determined Luke Schmitt of Jordan roared by on lap nine enroute to the win, with Sellner holding off Blaine's Craig Bennett for second and third.

Topping off the action were the Super Hornets and V-Town Motorsporst wheeler Jeremy Brainerd of Lonsdale was the class of the field as he outmanuvered the field for the win, with New Prague's Zach Schelhaas a strong second in his Elko debut, with Lakeville's Richard jeremy_brainerdThake third.
