Memories of a Local Racing Legend Carry On With the Support of the Local Community

More than 3,000 people attended Dan Ryan Sr.'s memorial service at Elko Speedway on Tuesday, January 6, 2009, filling every corner of Champions Entertainment Centre with valuable stories and lessons they learned from knowing this local racing legend. Together, the community of racers, fans, friends and family banded together in order to host a memorable event at a place where Dan Ryan Sr. called his "Summer Family Vacation Home".

Many thanks go out to numerous people on behalf of Elko Speedway for all the hard work and support offered during this hard time. An additional thanks is extended to the following people who teamed together to make the clean up job a small and pleasurable task: Bob and Liz Fredrickson, Bill and Shelly Forbord, Steve Anderson Sr, JT Anderson, Tim Anderson, Greg Larson, Nichole Fredrickson, Terry and Nancy Legried, Robin, Dennis and Steph Weber, Brian Danberry, Linda Warner, Matt and Backy Ryan and Ryan Rose.
