I-94 Raceway Pro-4 Trucks to battle Raceway Park’s American Short Trackers at Elko Speedway September 27th!

We all get a lot of invitations...weddings, graduation parties, etc. Lots of those head directly for the "round file". But when the I-94 Raceway Trucks were invited to take part in a race night with Raceway Park's American Short Trackers (AST's) at Elko Speedway, it was a "no brainer".

"The race fans really got in to the cars and trucks running against each other twice this year at I-94," said Dave Auringer, organizer of the American Short Trackers. "We're excited to be part of what looks to be a great race night at Elko." Auringer got together with Truck coordinator Dean Peterson and got the ball rolling. Peterson says it wasn't hard at all to convince the Pro-4 Truck division to head to Elko for another round of racing with the AST's. "We had a blast with the AST drivers both times they made the trip to our playground," said Peterson. "Everyone who even had a remote chance of making the trip said 'yes' to the invitation."

The list includes the only female competitor in the truck division and 2008 I-94 Raceway Champion Anneke Jenkins. The 21 year old had engine problems and won the championship while watching from the grandstands the last night of racing at I-94. Peterson has been working with the team to ensure Jenkins will be competitive at Elko.

Joining Peterson and Jenkins running the I-94 Pro Trucks will be Brandon Hartung, Mike Schwardt, Jim Eblen, Curt Peterson, Matt Peterson and Marc “Hot Shoe” Rosenow.

According to Auringer, the Raceway Park Short Trackers are ready to rumble! Auringer will be joined by, 2007 Elko AST Champion Matthew Schaar, Terry Larson, Todd & Ryan Kamish, Mike Dimmick, Charlie Pehrson, Robert Bakke, Keith Paulsrud, Eric Larson and Todd Johnson.

Race fans at I-94 Raceway witnessed lap after lap of three-wide racing when both divisions met up twice this year. Race fans can expect more of the same on the high banks of Elko Speedway on September 27th!
