Elko Hires Jason Schneider as Race Director

Elko Speedway is pleased to introduce Jason Schneider as our new race director at Elko.

“Jason is well respected in the pits,” said Tim Olson director of race day operations at Elko “he is all about fairness and consistency with a black and white interpretation of the rules, that is what we are looking for.”

“I was going to take a year off racing, but I wanted to stay in the sport,” said Schneider “this has been in the back of my mind for a long time so when Tim approached me, I knew this was what I should do.”

Jason started his racing history as a crew member in 1987 at Elko Speedway for the car driven by Jon Lemke.

Jason got behind the wheel in 1994, his first lap on Elko Speedway was in a premiere division Late Model, he won his first ever race. Schneider went on to become a two time Champion at Elko, 1998 and 1999.

Jason also has experience racing in some of the biggest touring series events including the NASCAR Elite series and twice at the Minnesota State Fairgrounds Speedway in the ASA National tour.

Jason has been a fixture in the pits at Elko Speedway, he has been in attendance every Saturday night since 1987 and that streak will now continue into 2016 as he joins the Elko family as race director.

Race teams can talk with Jason Schneider and Tim Olson along with the Tech crew at the Elko Speedway Driver Sign Up event at the End Zone Bar and Grill in Elko on Saturday February 27th.
